Age Limit:

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

Candidates must have possessed a Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Odisha Council of Technical Education & Vocational Training.

Plan and Pattern of Examination

1. Preliminary Examination:
   • Type of Examination: MCQ type (OMR/CBRE)
   • Duration: 150 minutes
   • Number of Papers & Marks: One paper with a total of 150 marks
   • Subjects Covered:
     • Arithmetic (10th standard)
     • Data Interpretation
     • Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability
     • General Mental Ability
     • Current Events of National and International Importance
     • Computer/Internet Awareness
   • Remarks:
     • Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
     • Minimum qualifying marks determined by the Commission for shortlisting candidates for the Main Written Examination.
     • Different minimum qualifying marks may be set for various categories of candidates.
2. Main Written Examination:
   • Type of Examination: Technical Paper
   • Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
   • Number of Papers & Marks: One technical paper with a total of 200 marks
   • Remarks:
     • Minimum of five times the number of vacancies shortlisted for the Main Written Examination.
     • Candidates numbering 1.5 times the vacancies advertised were shortlisted for Certificate Verification.
     • Different minimum qualifying marks may be set for various services/posts and categories of candidates.
3. Certificate Verification:
   • Remarks:
     • Candidates absent during certificate verification will have their candidature canceled.
     • No request for changing the date of certificate verification will be entertained.

The Commission reserves the right to set different minimum qualifying marks based on the nature of the technical paper and candidate categories. Candidates are advised to adhere to the Commission’s guidelines regarding the examination process.

Plan and Pattern of Examination

1. Preliminary Examination: 150 marks
   • The indicative Syllabus is in Annexure-C of the Advertisement.
2. Main Written Examination:
   • Two papers- 200 Marks.
     • Paper-I: Language (Odia and English)
     • Paper-II: General Studies
   • Mathematics tests shall be held only for the posts of Auditors.
   • Candidates of certain Services/Posts are required to qualify for the Computer Skill Test.
3. Certificate Verification:
   Candidates shall be shortlisted for Certificate Verification based on the marks secured in the Main Written Examination.

Note: The examination shall be conducted in Odia and English except for paper I of the main exam i.e. language. The candidate shall exercise his/her option for the medium of examination in the online application form. Once selected, the option cannot be changed.

Traffic Constable Recruitment for 26 Vacancies

Category-wise Vacancies:

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the position of Odisha Traffic Constable, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: The minimum Qualificat ion is requirement for passing the +2 Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board/University/Institution.
• Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 to 38 years of age as of January 1, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms.

Examination Plan and Pattern

Recruitment Stages:

1. Preliminary Examination:
   • If valid applications exceed 9000, a Preliminary Examination (MCQ) will be conducted either OMR or CBRE mode.
2. Written Examination:
   • In the Written Examination, candidates will be selected based on their performance in the Preliminary Examination, with up to 20 times the number of vacancies shortlisted. The exam, worth 85 marks, will include questions on Odia and English languages, Arithmetic, and General Knowledge at the +2 standard. Specifics will be announced on the website later.
3. Physical Standard Measurement & Physical Test (Qualifying only):

Candidates will undergo physical measurements to ensure they meet the prescribed standards. The measurements include height, weight, and chest measurements for male candidates. Female candidates may have specific requirements for height and weight.

Candidates who meet the prescribed physical standards will be required to undergo a physical test, which includes a running test.

Candidates must complete the physical test to qualify for further stages of the selection process.

4. Certificate Verification: Candidates who qualify will undergo Certificate Verification.
